The company’s green bond program allows it to finance its renewable energy program on terms that are often less expensive than its typical bonds. Since it is a major consumer of renewables, its moves here also encourage the greening of the electric grid and the development of a renewable energy economy that will serve its needs, along with society’s. In support of this effort, Verizon has a target to source 100% of the energy it uses in its networks from renewables by 2030.
