Secant Fuel provides an alternative to today’s fossil fuels by converting captured CO2 into e-fuels or base chemicals at a near zero Green Premium. The company provides an effective and pragmatic solution by offering a drop-in replacement product, taking advantage of today’s infrastructure and thus allowing for a faster implementation. By converting captured CO2, Secant Fuel offers a product with a carbon intensity up to 90% lower compared to fossil fuels.
About the solution
Secant Fuel has a novel PtX technology, which does not require electrolysis. By using a electrocatalytic conversion process, the company converts captured CO2 together with water and green electricity into syn-gas. Syn-gas is its lego block, allowing the company to use traditional synthesis methods like Fischer Tropsch to produce products like e-diesel or e-methanol. Through this simplified process, the company has a much lower CAPEX and OPEX compared to traditional PtX methods.
