Funding
- Hertha Metals raised $17M in funding for its green steelmaking process, which is 30% more energy-efficient and significantly cheaper than traditional production processes.
- H2Ok Innovations—developer of inline sensors powered by science and AI to enable running faster factories—raised a $12.4M Series A.
- Solidec raised a $2M pre-seed round for its reactors that produce chemicals using only air, water, and electricity.
- American Battery Technology Company was awarded a $1M agreement by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory ReCell Center to support the commercialization of one of its internally developed technologies for the domestic manufacturing of the critical mineral lithium-hydroxide.
- Elementium, a next-generation battery-electrolyte company, was awarded a $100k SuperBoost grant from the National Science Foundation Energy Storage Engine.
- Reframe Systems was awarded a $25k grant from the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator to rebuild resilient and sustainable homes in fire-affected communities in Greater Los Angeles.
- Solidec received a Phase I SBIR award from NASA to produce hydrogen peroxide that can be used in space for disinfection and water treatment during long-duration missions.

- H2Ok Innovations is scaling its AI spectral sensors to all of AB InBev’s global breweries and its six geographical zones.
- NONA Technologies partnered with Tracy Renewable Energy to deploy its first industrial pilot test for its water-desalination technology.
- Allium Engineering deployed its stainless-clad rebar in the replacement of a California bridge in partnership with ALTA Rebar and Myers & Sons Construction.
- Adept Materials completed a year-long pilot of its humidity-regulating paint in Greentown’s shower rooms, demonstrating its ability to combat mold and moisture problems in buildings.
- Capwell launched its commercial unit to capture and destroy methane leaked by old oil & gas wells.
- Greentown alum IncentiFind announced a partnership with Hubexo to help the latter’s customers identify and claim green-building incentives nationwide.
- Hertha Metals announced a breakthrough technical development milestone demonstrating that its green steel can be produced in fewer steps and with fewer resources, effectively at a lower cost than traditional steel.
- Syzygy Plasmonics partnered with Velocys to provide a technology for its SAF production project in Uruguay.
Awards + Recognition
- Deep Anchor Solutions, the developer of a deeply embedded ring anchor for floating offshore wind, and FAST Metals, an ACCEL participant that creates green metals from industrial waste, were selected for Activate’s 2025 cohort.
- SUPERGirls SHINE Foundation’s CEO Loretta Williams Gurnell was chosen for the Chick-fil-A Impact Accelerator for her work equipping underserved women and girls with STEM opportunities through early exposure.
- Cellsense received a $25k grant from the Sage Impact Entrepreneurship program for its algae-cellulose beads that eliminate microplastics across fashion, beauty, and design.
- rStream Recycling co-founder Ian Goodine was named to Manufacturing USA’s 2025 list of Modern Makers.
