Funding
- Form Energy, developer of cost-effective, multi-day energy-storage systems, closed a $405M Series F from investors including Greentown partner GE Vernova.
- rStream received a nearly $1M SBIR Phase II award from the National Science Foundation to advance its autonomous waste-sorting system.
- Greentown alum Moment Energy was awarded $20.3M by the U.S. Department of Energy to open the country’s first UL1974-certified manufacturing facility dedicated to repurposing EV batteries.
- Greentown alum Planetary Technologies raised an $11.35M Series A for its carbon-removal tech that focuses on enhancing ocean alkalinity.
- Greentown alum Circe Bioscience, a carbon-negative manufacturing company, raised a $5M seed round and announced its pilot-plant installation.
- Greentown Go alum Open Ocean Robotics, a maritime robotics and AI company dedicated to transforming ocean monitoring through advanced uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) technology, closed a $2.8M pre-Series A round.
- Greentown alum Malta, which is pioneering electrothermal, long-duration energy-storage solutions, announced an investment from Cox Group.
- EarthBond, an ACCEL alum, received a $200k investment from Madica.
Partnerships + Deployments
- Sublime Systems—a startup decarbonizing cement-making with a carbon-free electrochemical system—hosted a ribbon cutting for the first commercial application of its cement in what will be Boston’s largest net-zero-carbon office building. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and representatives from the Biden-Harris administration were in attendance.
- Fresh Inset signed an exclusive partnership with Janssen PMP to commercialize VIDRE+™, the startup’s technology that improves the shelf-life, appearance, and quality of fresh produce.
- Revvit held a ribbon cutting for one of its Level 1 EV charging pilot sites, hosted by Foxfire Property Management in a workplace parking lot in downtown Concord, NH.
- Glimpse, which develops X-ray-powered, quality-management solutions for batteries, is partnering with VisiConsult to launch VisiConsult’s VCB2, “the world’s highest throughput CT scanner.”
- Boxes is deploying its innovative retail devices with Beiersdorf.
- Allium Engineering, whose innovative manufacturing method introduces a thin shell of stainless steel to existing building materials, such as steel rebar, cut the ribbon on its advanced manufacturing facility in Billerica, MA.
- REON Technology, which provides intelligent, reliable, and accessible energy-storage and microgrid solutions that accelerate the global adoption of renewable energy, completed a shipment to the Footprint Project in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
- Greentown alum Verne announced the completion of its cryo-compressed-hydrogen, heavy-duty truck—the first of its kind in the world.
