FUNDING
- Eden closed a $12M seed funding round that was upsized and oversubscribed for its Electrical Reservoir Stimulation technology, which it will deploy across geothermal, geologic hydrogen, and sustainable mining applications.
- Overstory raised a $14M Series A round led by B Capital and joined by The Nature Conservancy.
- Osmoses raised an $11M seed funding round to bring its molecule-scale membranes to the hydrogen market.
- Latitude Media (formerly known as Post Script Media) raised $4M for its climate newsroom expansion.
- Salient Predictions, a Greentown alum, received a $2.9M grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support smallholder farmers in East Africa through a collaboration with in-region technology and weather partners.
- GigaDAC won $272K+ for its novel approach for achieving scale in direct-air carbon capture from the National Science Foundation.
- Syzygy Plasmonics and Greentown partner Mitsubishi Heavy Industries signed an investment agreement.
PARTNERSHIPS + DEPLOYMENTS
- American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) started operating its lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Nevada. ABTC will use its solution to be the lithium-ion battery recycler for Pyxera Global and Terra’s Done with It pilot program, sponsored by FedEx, to test the viability of recovering used electronics (e-waste).
- Advent Technologies is partnering with Technohull to develop a hybrid-electric propulsion system for boats using its e-fuel cells.
- CeraPhi and Greenvale completed a geothermal study in Longreach, Australia.
- Circularise, a three-time Greentown Go participant, announced a project to digitize the biofuels record-management process required for RED II compliance.
- Element Resources signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to develop hydrogen-economy infrastructure in Lancaster, CA. Dash Clean Energy, a Greentown alum, is also working on a project with Lancaster that will deploy its 20MW fuel cell system to provide the city with clean energy.
- Energy Toolbase has a new integration with Sunstone Credit, a technology-enabled, clean-energy financing platform that helps businesses go solar. The integration is now live on Energy Toolbase’s Platform.
- Moonshot will work with Purdue University to commercialize its food waste-to-hydrogen technology.
- rStream is piloting its waste-management tech in the dining halls at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
- LineVision completed an installation of its patented, non-contact sensors on transmission towers owned by AES in Indiana and Ohio as part of a joint project to assess how grid-enhancing technologies , such as dynamic line ratings, may increase transmission capacity on the power grid.
- SkyH2O will build its first full-scale water generation plants in the Houston, TX area.

- ABTC was listed on the Nasdaq as a publicly traded company.
- Form Energy’s iron-air battery technology and Sweetgreen’s Infinite Kitchen––powered by a solution created by Spyce, a Greentown alum that was acquired by Sweetgreen––were named to the TIME Best Inventions of 2023 list.
- Carbonext was selected for the Techstars Tulsa accelerator program cohort.
- DrinKicks’ Kristeen Reynolds, Stepwise’s Jane Chen, and SpadXTech’s Lina González were named 2024 IMPEL Innovators.
- Greentown members Fervo Energy and Form Energy, alongside alum Sublime Systems, were named to MIT’s 2023 Climate Tech Companies to Watch.
- Bevi and SparkCharge—both Greentown alums—and current member florrent were named 2023 Cleantech Fire Awards honorees by BostInno.
- Greentown alums C16 Biosciences and SparkCharge, current member Ebb Carbon, and Carbon to Value Initiative Year 3 participant Capture6 were named to Elemental’s Cohort 12, which also provided $750K to each company.
- Helix Power’s sustainable energy storage technology won the 2023 Ocean Exchange WW Orcelle Award, which provides $100K to a startup that has a solution that addresses both environmental and social concerns.
- Mars Materials’ CEO Aaron Fitzgerald was named to the Gaingels 100 list.
- SkyH2O was named to business magazine Success Knocks’ Innovators of the Year 2023 list for “pioneering the future of atmospheric water generation.”
- Mars Materials and Mantel were named among the “10 most promising energy tech companies” at Rice Alliance’s Energy Tech Venture Forum.
- Stepwise won the 43North prize and received an investment of $1M from 43N and Empire State Development to build its business in Buffalo, NY.
- Syzygy Plasmonics won the Best Energy Team award at ALLY Energy’s 2023 GRIT Awards.
