On Thursday 10/30, after hosting DEMO Day, members of the Greentown Labs staff and community joined guests at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel for the New England Clean Energy Center’s Green Tie Gala. The annual event is a celebration of the New England clean energy industry’s growth and accomplishments. The ceremony recognizes the region’s outstanding clean energy companies with NECEC’s Green Tie Gala Awards. This year, Greentown Labs’ Executive Director, Emily Reichert, and co-founder, Jason Hanna, received the first ever “Startup Supporter of the Year” award!

NECEC’s Startup Supporter of the Year award is given to an organization or individual who has gone above and beyond in supporting cleantech startups, entrepreneurs and the growth of the cleantech innovation ecosystem in the Northeast. This is the first year NECEC has given this award.

“Since its inception, Greentown Labs has provided a one-of-a-kind service to cleantech startups in the greater Boston area, and has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs,” said NECEC President Peter Rothstein. “We are thrilled to honor Jason and Emily with our first-ever Startup Supporter of the Year award and we congratulate all of tonight’s award winners for exemplifying the innovation in research, development, adoption and deployment of clean energy technologies in our region.”

We’re excited to have received the award and to continue supporting startups!
