Artificial intelligence is rewriting the rules of the global economy, and energy, utilities, and the built environment are feeling the impact. We are witnessing an emerging duality: AI simultaneously imposes a massive burden on our energy infrastructure, while also providing powerful tools to optimize and stabilize our energy system, affordably.

This Sector Pitch Day is designed to explore both sides of that coin.

On one side: AI has an energy problem. The physical and digital infrastructure required to build and scale AI—from semiconductor fabrication to hyperscale data centers—is driving unprecedented growth in electricity demand and resource consumption. Solving this is one of the defining challenges of our time.

On the other: Energy has an AI solution. Across the full energy value chain—from primary energy to grid management and industrial operations—AI is emerging as a foundational enabler. The question is no longer whether AI belongs, but how fast it can be deployed and at what scale and cost.
