Voxel8 Wins 2015 Gold Edison Award for Manufacturing

April 28, 2015–After making a splash at CES 2015 in Las Vegas inJanuary, Voxel8 has continued to distinguish itself as the cutting-edge company to watch for multi-material 3D printing.

 At the Edison Awards in New York last week, Voxel8 won the Gold Award for Manufacturing. The Edison Awards globally recognizes, honors and fosters innovation and innovators to create a positive impact on the world. These awards honor excellence in new product and service development, marketing, human-centered design and innovation.

Voxel8’s unique 3D printer fulfilled the four criteria the Steering Committee and Judging Panel identified: concept, value, delivery and impact.

IMG_5395Voxel8 disrupts the design and manufacturing of electronic devices by providing new functional materials and 3D printing platforms. Currently, products are designed around the electronics, i.e., flat printed circuit boards. Voxel8 enables the direct integration of electronics in 3D objects of arbitrary geometry, revolutionizing how electronics are made.

Co-founder and Hardware Lead Michael Bell summed up the experience: “It was an honor to receive such a prestigious award for our disruptive manufacturing process. I expect in the coming years we will see award winners leveraging our platform to design unprecedented products which could not previously be manufactured with any other method.”

What’s next for Voxel8?

The company is now in the process of delivering on promises to commercialize the Developer’s Kit, which enables multi-material 3D printed electronics for the very first time. Voxel8 is also raising its next round of funding.
