About the Company
Ebb Carbon removes atmospheric CO2 and reduces ocean acidification. Using a proprietary electrochemical system to separate acid out of salty water, Ebb de-acidifies the ocean and enhances its natural ability to capture CO2 from the air and store it safely and stably as bicarbonate for at least 10,000 years.
About the Solution
The Ebb process uses low-carbon electricity and membranes to separate the NaCl in seawater or salty effluent into acid and slightly alkaline saltwater. The acid (HCl) is retained and put to commercial use outside of the ocean. The alkaline saltwater is controllably returned to the ocean converting atmospheric CO2 into oceanic bicarbonate which is stable in the ocean for at least 10,000 years. The process is performed in a way that is safe and within the bounds of natural ocean pH cycles.
