Kicking Off 2016 with a Bang, Greentown Labs Style

The “typical” week at Greentown Labs is packed with activities and the first week of the New Year was certainly not an exception. From new employee onboarding and VIP tours, to sponsor lunch and learns and an EnergyBar, our community was buzzing with energy. Here’s a look at what happened last week:

Team growth: Greentown Labs’ welcomed three new members to its team! Julia Travaglini, marketing director, Gregory Ralich, team administrator, and Cayman Somerville, operations and marketing intern. Be sure to say hello at the next EnergyBar!

Partner support: Member companies are the heartbeat of Greentown Labs and our partners and sponsors play a vital role in keeping that beat steady. Veolia, Wolf Greenfield and Clean Energy Venture Group held office hours throughout the week offering industry expertise and insight to our members. Their willingness to take time out of their day to support our entrepreneurs is sincerely appreciated and we hope the time together is mutually beneficial.

Additionally, Keysight Technologies hosted a Lunch & Learn to highlight their electronic equipment offerings available to Greentown Labs members. BenchVue, Keysight Technologies’ all-in-one application enables user to visualize multiple measurements simultaneously, rapidly prototype, quickly access manuals, drivers and FAQs, and more. Our members are always eager to utilize our sponsor’s technology and enjoy the face-to-face time with our sponsor contacts.

VIP visits: We had the privilege of touring Tufts University President Anthony Monaco and members of his senior staff around our space. The Greentown Labs community has a handful of very proud Tufts alumni who were eager to show them around our space. We look forward to opportunities for collaboration!

Our friends at SunEdison visited Thursday afternoon to meet with various member companies and learn more about their companies. They viewed presentations from Altaeros Energies, Sistine Solar and Ranger Solar — two of which fall right in SunEdison’s sunny, sweet-spot. We look forward to seeing the SunEdison team at future Greentown Labs events!

Party like it’s 2016: In true Greentown Labs’ spirit, we officially commenced the New Year with our monthly EnergyBar! The night was full of networking, drinks, apps and a live-stream from Rise Robotics’ booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. (Thanks, Rise!) TankUtility and Voxel8 were also at CES and it sounds like it was a great event for all three companies.
