Funding
- Form Energy closed a $240M Series D, which will accelerate the market entry of its multi-day, cost-effective energy storage technology.
- Cemvita Factory received investments from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a Greentown Houston Grand Opening Partner, and Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, a Greentown partner.
- American Battery Technology Company closed a $39.1M funding round.
- Sofar Ocean raised a $39M Series B.
- Via Separations, a Greentown alum, raised a $38M Series B.
- Titan Advanced Energy Solutions raised a $33M Series B.
- COI Energy was a recipient of Google’s second Black Founders Fund.
Partnerships + Deployments
- SparkCharge rolled out ChargeUp, its new electric vehicle charging delivery service—which costs just $25/month. In addition, SparkCharge CEO Josh Aviv was named one of Insider’s 100 People Transforming Business.
- Energy Toolbase announced a platform integration with Greentown partner Enel X North America and launched a new software monitoring platform.
- LineVision partnered with a large power utility in Northern Ireland to install its non-contact sensors to monitor 33kV overhead power lines in the region and deployed its transmission line monitoring system across power lines in the greater Sacramento, CA region.
- Carbon to Value Initiative participant Carbfix will process and store carbon from the world’s largest carbon capture plant, which plans to capture 4,000 tons of carbon annually.
- Ivys Energy Solutions and PDC Machines are deploying the largest self-producing commercial hydrogen refueling station in North America.
- ClearTrace announced a collaboration with EDF and JPMorgan Chase to ensure that 100 percent of the electricity consumed by JPMorgan Chase’s UK offices operations are matched in real-time with renewable energy.
- InNOVAte 2019 Challenge participant Hyperframe announced a new collaboration with Saint-Gobain, our partner on the Greentown Launch program.
- SWTCH Energy is partnering with IBI Group and Slate Asset Management to launch an EV-to-building pilot in Canada.
- CeraPhi Energy is partnering with UK energy company IGas Energy to repurpose oil and gas wells for geothermal energy use.
- Salient Predictions and our partner BASF signed a global commercial agreement, which will allow farmers to use Salient Predictions’ long-range weather forecasting to inform their agronomic choices.
Acquisitions
- Our member Spyce, which develops automated kitchen technology, was acquired by sweetgreen.
- Greentown alum SRECTrade, an environmental commodity management and transaction platform, was acquired by Xpansiv.
- Greentown alum Tank Utility, a leading provider of remote monitoring services for truck-delivered energy, was acquired by Generac.
