Funding

  • Lydian raised $43.7M for its sustainable aviation fuel made from CO2.
  • Helix Earth Technologies received a $1.2M SBIR grant for its high-efficiency retrofit dehumidification system that reduces the energy consumption of commercial AC units.
  • Diffraqtion, whose AI cameras power ultra-high-resolution Earth and space imaging, closed $4.2M in a pre-seed round and a DARPA SBIR Direct to Phase II award.
  • AeroShield received a $1M CriticalMass grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and will partner with WinnCompanies to deploy and validate a full-scale, aerogel-insulated window installation at two upcoming affordable housing communities in Boston
  • Candid Intelligence received an investment from SE Ventures for its agentic AI system that compresses months of pre-construction engineering into hours.
  • Greentown alum Type One Energy, developer of a system for optimized stellarator fusion energy, raised $87M in a convertible note.
  • Greentown alum Seasats, developer of long-endurance autonomous surface vessels, received a $24M award from the Department of War’s Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) program.
  • Greentown alumni SparkCharge and Embue received CriticalMass grants of $1M and $974k, respectively. As part of the awards:
    • SparkCharge will partner with Greentown partner Global Partners to deploy its mobile, off-grid DC fast-charging hubs at high-traffic retail sites in Worcester, Ayer, and Pittsfield, MA, with a focus on environmental justice communities. 
    • Embue will partner with the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), WorcLab, and others to deploy its Multifamily Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform at affordable and workforce multifamily housing sites and buildings across Massachusetts.
  • Hera Materials, developer of scalable, sustainable, biomass-based packaging, received a $100k FORGE 2026 CT Product Development Grant.
