FUNDING
- Nth Cycle closed a $37M Series B—including from Greentown Labs partner Equinor Ventures—and raised $7M more in non-dilutive funding for its critical-metals-refining technology.
- Allspice raised $6M in venture capital for its hardware development platform.
- AmpUp was awarded $1.7M in project funding from the state of Connecticut to implement its EV-charging demand management solution.
- Tender received a nearly $1M SBIR Phase II grant from the National Science Foundation, under which it will collaborate with the Kaplan Lab at Tufts University and the Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture to broaden the number of animal species for its plant-based meat products and systematically evaluate the benefits of adding animal cells to plant-based products.
- Greentown alum Malta closed a round of funding to support its grid-scale, long-duration-energy-storage system.
PARTNERSHIPS + DEPLOYMENTS
- Circularise, a Go Make 2023 participant, secured a SAFE investment with SEKISUI CHEMICAL and the pair announced plans for a joint chemicals-traceability project.
- Revterra was awarded a $1M piloting opportunity with ADNOC for its novel flywheel batteries made from recycled steel.
- Alma Energy is participating in a partnership led by The University of Texas at El Paso to enhance the effectiveness of geothermal energy capture. The partnership recently received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy.
AWARDS + RECOGNITION
- Greentown member Sublime Systems and alum Raptor Maps were named to Moonshot Magazine’s list of 25 emerging climatetech startups.
- Capture6 was named the winner of Korea International Water Week’s World Water Challenge 2023.
- Capture6 and Carbon To Stone were selected as semi-finalists for the U.S. Department of Energy’s DAC Pre-Commercial Technology Prize, each winning $100k.
