Greentown Labs CEO Kevin Knobloch Announces Decision to Step Down at the End of July

Greentown Labs CEO and President Kevin Knobloch today announced his decision to step down at the end of July 2024.

Knobloch joined Greentown in September 2023 after longtime CEO Emily Reichert stepped down in December 2022. He brought more than 30 years of experience leading and building effective mission-driven organizations in the business, government, and non-profit sectors with a focus on advancing clean energy and climate change solutions.

During his tenure at Greentown, Knobloch helped stabilize many aspects of the organization and positioned Greentown on a more sustainable path for growth and impact.

“On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I want to thank Kevin for his efforts to strengthen the foundation of Greentown Labs and for charting the next chapter for the organization through a strategic refresh process,” said Dawn James, Greentown Labs Board Chair. “His thoughtful leadership will leave a lasting impact on the team and community for years to come.”

“It has been an honor to lead this incredible team and organization, and a true privilege to get to know many of our brilliant startup founders,” said Knobloch. “The passion, commitment, and ingenuity they bring every day to our prototyping labs and work space give me optimism that early-stage innovation will become an increasingly essential driver of decarbonization at scale across every economic sector, with no time to lose. “Greentown is a proven leader in supporting early-stage climatetech companies and I can’t wait to see all that it will accomplish in the coming years.”

“We appreciate Kevin’s leadership over the past nine months,” said Katherine Hamilton, Greentown Labs Board Vice Chair and Chair of 38 North Solutions. “The Board of Directors is eager to identify the next leader of this amazing organization and will appoint an interim CEO in the coming weeks.”

In parallel with the Interim CEO appointment, the Board of Directors will launch a national search for Greentown’s next permanent CEO soon.
