Clean Technology Business Review: US DOE Announces $37 Million in Financing for 16 New Projects*

A funding of $37m has been announced by the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (APRA-E) for 16 new projects to transform energy storage and conversion. The funding forms part of a new ARPA-E program, Integration and Optimization of Novel Ion-Conducting Solids (IONICS).

Investopedia: Amazon Announces Its Largest-Ever Renewable Energy Project

The Amazon Wind Farm Texas will feature more than 100 wind turbines with diameters “twice as long as the wingspan of a Boeing 747” and produce annual energy to power almost 90,000 homes for a year. The project is the fifth such renewable energy project for the company. Cumulatively, the projects generate 2.6 million megawatt hours each year and will be used to power current and future Amazon Web Services cloud data centers.
