At Rushnu, we’re building a profitable pathway to decarbonize the chemical industry (no carbon credits). Rushnu’s CarbonCatalyzeTM process converts waste gas streams (e.g. biogenic CO2 from biogas — WWTPs, landfills & ag sites) and salt (e.g., from desalination units) into Cl2 chemicals (< cost vs. chlor-alkali), CH4 (@ no cost to host), and carbonated minerals (= carbon-neutral process).

About the Solution

Rushnu’s CarbonCatalyzeTM solution captures CO2 from point sources such as biogas and fuel gas and reacts it with salt using our proprietary thermocatalytic process to produce chlorine-based chemicals. The system reduces electricity consumption by over 60% and lowers production costs by more than 70% compared to conventional chlor-alkali methods. By producing chemicals directly at the site of demand, CarbonCatalyzeTM also eliminates most transportation and storage needs, cutting emissions and improving safety while delivering reliable, low-cost supply.
