About the Company

QDTI is developing a novel magnetic based diagnostic platform based on quantum technology.

About the Solution
QDTI Imaging Technology

NV centers are tiny defects in the diamond crystal whose electronic states measure the local environment with very high sensitivity and spatial resolution. To make the imaging platform, QDTI uses billions of NV centers just below the surface of a synthetic diamond sensor. The quantum-doped sensor can rapidly image magnetic fields from objects as small as a few nanometers. The NV imager acts like a magnetic microscope – making detailed images of magnetic fields instead of light – with unrivaled sensitivity and throughput.

Magnetic-based Immunoassay Detection

Current immunoassays diagnostics rely on optical detection technologies. Due to significant optical background in biological samples, these optical platforms are costly, time-consuming, and cumbersome due to the extensive sample washing and preparation needed.

The QDTI imaging platform – using magnetic versus optical tags – enables an extremely simple, reliable, and high-performance diagnostic capability. This all-magnetic detection approach is simpler, cheaper, and highly flexible, allowing new biomarkers to be targeted quickly in key areas like neurology (such Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s), immuno-oncology, and infectious disease.

The QDTI magnetic detection approach holds tremendous potential to improve detection of critical biomarkers (e.g. proteins, nucleic acids, cells) with impacts on all phases of biomedical research and patient care.
