About the Solution

Maple Materials developed and patented a molten carbonate electrolysis process to convert carbon dioxide into graphite and oxygen. Unlike conventional processes that refine crude oil into graphite using fossil fuel heating, every step of Maple’s process is electrically driven and can be powered by carbon-free renewable energy.
