Funding
- American Battery Technology Company closed a $39.1M funding round.
- Cemvita Factory has received investments from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a Greentown Houston Grand Opening Partner, and Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, a Greentown partner.
- Via Separations, a Greentown alum, raised a $38M Series B.
- Biobot Analytics, another Greentown alum, closed a $20M Series A.
- Patch, a Carbon to Value (C2V) Initiative participant, also raised a $20M Series A.
- Made of Air, another C2V Initiative participant, closed a $5.8M seed round.
Deployments + Partnerships
- LineVision announced a partnership with Marubeni Corporation, which will kick off with an installation of LineVision’s sensor and software solutions on a power line originating from the Mibugawa Hydro plant in Ina City, Nagano, Japan.
- SWTCH Energy is partnering with IBI Group and Slate Asset Management to launch an EV-to-building pilot in Canada.
- C2V Initiative participant Carbfix is partnering with Rio Tinto to implement a technology for capturing carbon and permanently storing it underground at the ISAL aluminum smelter in Iceland.
- CalWave Power Technologies successfully commissioned a pilot of its wave energy device.
- Heila Technologies deployed its modular energy platform at Auto Mercado, a top Costa Rican supermarket chain.
- Advent Technologies successfully completed the first installation of its HG 5000 fuel cell systems across the Philippines.
- CeraPhi Energy reached an agreement to repurpose oil and gas wells in UK energy company IGas Energy’s portfolio for geothermal energy use.
- Topl is partnering with Fueltrax to create a full, complete, and verifiable digital record of energy trading operations, and is partnering with Data Gumbo to create a way for corporations to track and report their ESG metrics.
- Packetized Energy is working with Orange and Rockland Utilities on an innovative new grid edge flexibility project in New York.
- Solarflux released a new tool called CASPER that compares the energy collection and conversion efficiency of concentrating solar power technologies, such as their FOCUS parabolic dish concentrator.
- OhmConnect teamed up with the California State Parks Foundation to help Californians reduce energy consumption and prevent blackouts.
- Energy Toolbase integrated with Socomec to enable solar and energy storage developers to seamlessly model, control, and monitor energy storage projects.
- C2V Initiative participant Made of Air unveiled Air Eau de Parfum—the “world’s first fragrance made from air.”
Acquisitions
- Advent Technologies, a Greentown member, acquired Serenergy A/S and fischer eco solutions GmbH, and with these acquisitions has now more than doubled its global team.

- COI Energy is a recipient of Google’s second Black Founders Fund. The startup was also featured by SAP.iO as an innovator in utilities.
- Cemvita Factory and Syzygy Plasmonics have been selected to compete live from Glasgow at COP26 through Net Zero Technology Centre’s COP26 Pitch Battle.
- BOxES COO Natalia Machin was featured in Forbes as one of “50 Latinas Who Are Innovating to Sustainably, and Deliciously, Feed The World.”
- ALLY Energy CEO Katie Mehnert was recognized as one of Houston’s Global Leaders of Influence by the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston.
