About the speakers:
Matias Torrellas is the Portfolio Manager of InnoEnergy, responsible for managing its overall equity portfolio. He has been with InnoEnergy since February 2015. Prior to that, he was Investment Director at CX Capital, managing a portfolio of over 200M€ of private equity positions and listed securities. Before that, he had an extensive career in banking, holding positions at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers in London and New York. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, the CFA certification, and an Engineering degree from UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Spain).
Andrew Wordsworth is a Founder and Managing Partner of Sustainable Ventures which was established in 2011 with a vision of the world in which the twin challenges of climate change and resource scarcity are addressed by commercial solutions.
Since then, Sustainable Ventures has launched 8 companies (including E-Car Club, which created the UK’s first crowdfunding exit in 2015 when Europcar acquired a majority stake), invested in 21, and provided support services to over 150. They have created a unique ecosystem of support underpinned by their Workspaces sites near London Bridge, with a robust network of 450 entrepreneurs and innovators at its core. This forms Europe’s largest cluster of sustainability and cleantech start-ups.
Prior to establishing Sustainable Ventures, Andrew had over 15 years experience in the energy and climate change sector – including roles within Esso, Bain, Arthur D Little and as Managing Director of Carbon Trust Enterprises. Andrew holds an M.Eng from the University of Cambridge.
