A look back: PROPEL Workshops and Roundtables

Time flies when you’re having fun! We’re more than halfway through the PROPEL Program and the membePropel Workshop r companies are knee-deep in their prototype development. The mission of the PROPEL acceleration program is to support startups as they develop innovative technologies in self-powered Wireless Sensor-Actuator Networks (WSANs). Greentown Labs and Fraunhofer TechBridge envision a smarter, interconnected and resource-efficient world, and it is their goal to help the startups build their products toward integrated solutions and viable business models that will radically change how we interact with our environment.

So far, Greentown Labs has hosted monthly roundtable discussions and hands-on workshop trainings for the startups to engage and meet with corporate and strategic partners involved with PROPEL. Each event was themed differently to target specific startup needs.

VentureWell and Greentown Labs co-hosted two three-day highly-interactive workshops with VentureWell and PROPEL companies as part of the overall PROPEL Program. The purpose of these trainings were to provide early-stage cleantech entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and skills to articulate milestones so they can raise investment and build partnerships on their own. Topics included board governance, employee vesting, milestone planning, sources and uses, partner selection, scoping a pilot and strategic-partnering considerations such as IP, contracts and navigating institutional sales. Each workshop offered startups an opportunity to practice their pitch and receive feedback from seasoned peers and industry experts.

Propel Workshop The workshops and trainings have been well-received among the startup attendees and Greentown Labs is proud of the progress the participating companies have made!
