Small but Mighty: A Community’s Commitment to Sustainability

Our CEO, Emily Reichert, recently spoke at the 16th edition of Les Rencontres in Aix-en-Provence, France, which gathered more than 200 speakers from around the world and was dedicated to the role of a country in a globalized world. Emily’s presentation focused on one of the event’s themes, “Can Territories Be Sustainable?” and she highlighted how important the actions of smaller cities are in the global movement to fight climate change. Naturally, she shared the impressive work Somerville is doing to become carbon neutral by 2050, and how the City supports and partners with us and our member companies.

We’re proud to call Somerville our home and we’re grateful to be part of such a supportive, forward-thinking community that encourages our member companies’ innovation. See below for a video interview with Emily in France!

Emily also recently co-authored an article about the City of Somerville’s commitment to clean and green energy, and its innovative leadership via the City’s GreenTech Program. You can read the article here: How Small Cities Can Have a Big Impact in the Fight Against Climate Change
