Reinventing laundry. AquaFresco is reinventing the $50B cleaning market with its breakthrough wastewater recycle system. The company spun-off from the winning team of the MIT MADMEC competition in 2014. Since then, AquaFresco has been pushing the water recycle technology from a lab innovation to a commercialized product. Our novel water recycle system is currently tested at 3 pilot hotels, potentially cutting water and detergent use for laundry in these hotels by 95% with our patent-pending invention.

NewGrid develops decision support software for electric power transmission system operators to minimize congestion by routing power around congested areas. Routing is achieved by reconfiguring transmission systems through switching of high voltage circuit breakers. QD Solar

QD Solar’s technology combines efficient silicon solar cells with highly cost-effective infrared solar cells in a hybrid architecture to harvest more of the solar spectrum than silicon alone. At a minimum cost, the silicon solar cell efficiency is boosted by an additional 4 power points. The basis of QD Solar’s technology is colloidal quantum dots. These materials are nanometer-sized semiconductor particles whose bandgap can be tuned from the visible to the infrared by changing the particle size. The quantum dots are processed from solution, are compatible with high-throughput, cost-effective roll-to-roll processing technologies, and are inorganic, thus inherently more light- and air-stable than polymers. We are actively seeking out early stage development partners and investors to work with us to revolutionize the global power generation market with our colloidal quantum dot photovoltaic technology.

Voxel8 is a startup company that is bringing novel materials to 3D printing. We will embed function into the typical shapes of 3D printing. Our materials, based on research by Harvard SEAS Professor Lewis, allow us to print embedded conductors, wires, and batteries into the normal matrix materials of 3D printing.

We will notify you of our decision within two weeks from the start of your application. If space is not immediately available, you’ll be placed on our waiting list.


Greentown Labs rents desks at prices competitive with other nearby co-working spaces, with the added benefits of prototyping lab space co-located within the same facility (rented by the square foot) and a sector-focused entrepreneur community.
